I wish I had a video of this!
I came from home from work yesterday & the cat was lying in the middle of the living room floor giving me this odd look. I didn't really think anything of it - maybe he was just mad at me for being gone so long or something (cats are moody like that). So, I walked into the kitchen towards the dining room to get his cat carrier which I keep by the back door, so I could take him to my parents house with me (he loves being able to run around their house since it's much bigger)...anyway, I noticed he had been digging in the kitchen plant because there was dirt on the floor. So I looked at him and asked him what he was thinking...he knows he's not supposed to play in the plant & he doesn't...except for yesterday. He just looked at me like...."just wait, that's only the beginning." He continued to sit there, which didn't strike me as odd, but more often than not, he follows me around the house when I first get home, so it was a bit out of character. I kept walking & instead of just grabbing the cat carrier, I looked around the room real quick to see if he had been up to anything else. I had a pile of laundry sitting by the washer (not sure why..I should have just put it in, even if I didn't start it until later)...well, he had strewn some of the clothes around into the hallway. Little stinker!!! As I turned around to grab the cat carrier, I noticed a bag of cat treats on the floor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? What in the world was this cat thinking? He must have gotten a wild hair while I was at work. He seriously went crazy. I keep the cat treats in the cupboard...so he would have had to jump up on the counter, swat the cupboard door open (possible, I've seen him do it with the lower cupboard where I keep the cat food) and swat the bag of treats out (obviously not impossible, but until yesterday I thought it was highly unlikely). Then he would have had to swat the treats onto the floor and then either swat them into the dining room or pick up the bag in his teeth & carry it into the dining room. Amazing effort my dear Madison! The sad part is there is no way he could have opened the ziplock type closure, so all that effort was for not because he didn't even get a treat. Good thing though because if he had gotten a treat, he would do it every day....well, I'd move the treats to the cupboard above the sink, where he can't reach, but still....he's one smart cookie.
