National Adoption Day & National Adoption Month

November is National Adoption Month
AND
Saturday, November 17th is National Adoption Day.

Sooooooo, everyone go out & adopt some kids!

If I could, I would. When I can, I will.
I promise!

For more info, state specific: UTAH, ARIZONA

Older children need homes as much as younger ones do...sobering fact: 52% of waiting children in UT are 13 or older...77% are 6 and older....only 23% are 5 or younger & yet "everyone" wants a child under 5.

click HERE for more stats about foster care & adoption in your state.

International adoption is wonderful, but why not care for the children here at "home"....
  • They probably already speak English
  • You don't have to deal with foreign governments
  • You don't have to buy expensive plane tickets & stay in a foreign country for weeks finalizing everything.
  • It's cheaper all around
  • The children aren't any better or worse, they're all children of God.
  • Either way, you get a tax break & you can still take "maternity" leave & the child will most likely be eligible for medicare.

*ok, I'll shut up now*

But I do want to say a big THANK YOU to those of you who are Foster, Adoptive or Birth parents.
I admire you.

  1. I guess I hit "publish comment" when I had just typed one letter! So, here's another try. Amy, your blog about adoption touched my heart. My adopted nephew--your cousin--- is loved just as much as all the other nieces and nephews. So, if anyone reading this is even thinking about it...go for it! Change lives...the child's and your own.
