Happy National Cheesecake Day!

Eat Up, Enjoy!

Here is one of my favorite cheesecake stories. When I lived in the Bronx, we lived around the corner from a cheesecake bakery (I think it was called SOS, but there was no sign on the outside of the building & it's been over 10 yrs, so I may be wrong). 1st off, it made the neighborhood smell HEAVENLY when they were baking. We soon found out that they would sell us cheesecakes if we rang the doorbell on the unmarked door. So for Christmas I decided to send my family a cheesecake. I bought a frozen one & went to the post office. I figured if I sent it priority mail it would be fine - already frozen, traveling in the winter & it would get there in max 3 days. BUT, the post office was out of priority mail boxes, all they had were the envelopes...(the cheesecake was in a flimsy cardboard box, but I knew that wouldn't provide much protection) so, I just put the cheesecake in an envelope & hoped it would be ok. My parents said it arrived fairly smashed, but it was still cold & tasted amazing :-)

I splurge & buy a Junior's Cheesecake once a year or so - they are one of the best!
Some of my favorites are the pumpkin swirl, Black forest, chocolate mousse, and plain with fruit (especially cherries).
