Concert Update

So I'm sure Josh will forgive me for being less than giddy about going to his concert last night. It really was fantastic & something must have possessed me as I found myself yelling "We Love You Josh". I was totally laughing at myself that those words came out of my mouth. Although I think something was trying to keep me from making too much a fool of myself since midway through my declaration of love my gum started falling out of my mouth so by the time I got to "...Josh", my mouth was closing quickly to keep the gum from falling out on the people below.....or heaven forbid, in his curly locks.
..You see, Josh was singing, but no one could see him. My cousin Lis had seen his show in Vegas & prior to the start had told us that part way through, he would enter the arena from the back...through the audience. So with a little nudge from a slightly louder than normal crowd below us, I looked over the edge of the railing (we were on the 1st row of the upper level (sec 133 row 1)), I looked down & there he was....right below us! that's when the 12 year old girl demon possessed me & I yelled "We Love You J...osh" & tried not to spit my gum on the poor unsuspecting fans below.

Lis & Tasha took some great pictures & even video. I'll download Lis's pics on Sunday & I'll post a couple. Maybe I can get Tasha's tonight.

So on the way home Lis commented on how Josh is amazing live (unlike some performers who sound so much better on their CD then in person) and I told her Michael Buble is better in person than on his CD (no joke!). She said "did you know they are friends?" & she told me how Josh came out on stage during Michael's "Great Performances" concert (for PBS). STUPID me, I recorded that concert months ago, but never watched it. So I had to go home & fast forward to that part. It was funny. Michael is pretty good at impersonating different people & he jokes in his act (he did the same thing at our Phoenix concert) that he is sick of Jazz music & wants to sing something else. So he goes through a few impersonations...Michael Jackson, Josh Groban ...and comments that he wants to kick Josh's butt. Well, that's when Josh comes out on stage & they have a little banter back and forth. It was funny....staged, but funny.

If anyone wants to see Josh's Salt Lake show, wait for the DVD. Yep, they had a zillion cameras there last night filming for the DVD. Can't wait to see if the sound editor can muffle some of Lis's screams :-) or if when the camera panned up to us when Josh was below us, if we make the cut onto the DVD. He said he picked SLC for a few reasons. 1. He performed his first huge performance in the closing ceremonies of the Olympics in 2002 here & 2. his concert at the E center in 2005 was his first large arena performance (not a small theater).

Oh, and Lucia Micarelli on violin was amazing as always!
