Dear Kidney Stone(s),
PLEASE GO AWAY!
Just dissappear, because too often it's uncomfortable to have you in my kidney, and it's almost unbearable to have you trying to leave the "natural" way.
Thanks,

I am grateful for the prayers that were answered by making the pain bearable enough that dying wasn't a better option. and I'm so glad I was able to keep down enough lemon water last night to keep the impending attack #2 (in a week) at bay. (I have a feeling there's a big one in there that keeps getting stuck trying to get out...it eventually gives up & goes back to rattling around in my right kidney)

I just read on webmd.com that drinking grapefruit juice increases your chances of getting kidney stones. I seriously wonder if the fact that I drank a whole bottle of Simply Grapefruit juice over the past week (not something I usually do) had something to do with it? I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.
I remember reading an article a few years ago about people that donated a kidney to a stranger, & thought that was a pretty cool & selfless thing to do. For a minute I thought, maybe I could do that, but then I realized 1. who wants a kidney full of scar tissue & stones and 2. if I donated the other kidney, I'd be left with one that couldn't be trusted to last the rest of my life. So much for being all selfless & stuff. I guess I'll be keeping all of my internal organs.
Oh, and the BCS Sucks! TCU vs Boise St.? seriously? chickens!

Oh man, I didn't know you had another attack of the stones... UGH! I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! I haven't had any, but I've heard that the pain is excruciating. Best wishes for a speedy expulsion.
ReplyDeleteYUCK! I haven't experienced that version of pain. But I hear it is excruciating! I'm sorry you've been sick!
