Saying he needed the mats shaved off his backside turned into this:
It's called a "Lion" cut. After the first stroke of the razor, I think I gasped & thought "oh, no, that' s not what I meant" but it was too late. It's really soft though. Honestly, it's not much shorter than your average short haired cat. It's just a DRASTIC change.Also, he did NOT like the lady shaving his groin or bum. WOW, I've never, ever seen him so angry. He hissed & growled & screeched & even got out of the muzzle she had him in. I felt really bad for him, but I also knew he was ok. Funny how he wasn't that angry yesterday when he got vaccinated & the 2 shots actually hurt. Anyway, that's the reason he got matted in the first place, because he won't let me brush him back there.
So if you see him. Don't laugh or call him names...I'm sure he's already self conscious enough. Good thing warmer weather is on it's way (even thought it snowed today) or I might have to go buy one of those doggy sweaters to keep his back end warm LOL.
And, luckily, it'll always grow back.
oh, and don't worry, I took the stupid paw print bandanna off him. This pic was taken just a few minutes after we got home.
Oh my gosh...he even looks funnier than in the picture you sent on my cell phone...poor thing. I'll really control myself and not laugh when I see him! He's such a beautiful cat...

ReplyDeleteYea the groin shave thing I'll bet he didn't like it. YIKES! He does look pretty sad though. Luckily it will grow back.
