Madison.....the taboo post

So I've been told I'm no allowed to post about my cat because it makes me sound like a weirdo. "No wonder she's not married"... you know what I mean.
Well, I don't think its the cat keeping me from getting married, but that's besides the point.

Anyway, this is the 2nd night that Madison has tried to catch one of those black & red flying bugs. They are impossible to keep out of the house, but luckily they're harmless & easy (for me) to catch & flush.

So he jumps up on the TV & stares at it as it crawls & flies around the light. He'll never catch it because he's way too far away & not brave enough to take a flying leap off the TV. So last night I decided to help him out. I swatted it out of the light (ceiling fan) and it flew towards the ceiling. Well, I knew I probably couldn't just reach out & catch it in my hand (or with chopsticks like in karate kid), so laughing at myself, I swatted at it & knocked it to the floor. Madison jumps down, like we're a bug catching team & he has to help me. I pick it up & show madison that "we" caught it & then disposed of it. Tonight the bug (no, not the same one that died last night) is up in the ceiling fan light for a long time & for whatever reason flies down & lands near me. so Madison jumps off the TV and meows at the bug (I don't think he scared it). I reached over & picked it up, held it for Madison to see & then got rid of it. Now Madison is bored. Maybe I should have left him alone to his bug catching. I'm not so sure he appreciated the help.

2/21/08: I know that doesn't really sound funny, but I was totally laughing at myself as I'm helping my cat catch a bug LOL. Probably funnier is last night, when he got his tail stuck to the lint roller (the super sticky tape kind)...he chased his tail, threw his tail around trying to knock it off, etc until I ripped it off. Poor thing, I'm sure it hurt, but it was pretty comical watching him trying to get it off of himself.
