A Facelift....it's better than Botox

So, yesterday in my dying hours ...ok, I'm TOTALLY exaggerating, but I have been pretty sick... I thought I'd look for a new blogger template.
99.9% of what I found was lame, so I wondered how hard it would be to create my own. Well, it was way easier than I thought once I went to a few scraping sites & found a fabulous free download that had green in it & that I liked.
Since I didn't really know what I was looking for, I loved that it was FULL of lots of different things...paper, ribbons, flowers, frames, etc. So I opened up photoshop & decided to resize a few things. Much to my delight, between coughing up a lung & drinking herbal tea, I figured out how to layer things & actually create the blog header. It was surprisingly easy (GASP!)



Now that it's done, I feel bad for not buying my stuff off Tangie's site, but I didn't want to buy something & then realize it was too hard & never end up using it.
Next time I will use TangieBaxter.com designs!

The hardest part was figuring out how NOT to ruin my blog by pasting the links to my flickr uploads in the wrong place (the papers, etc have to be hosted somewhere on the web and flickr allows private pages, so people can't steal what I uploaded).
I finally figured out where the links went....mostly by trial and error. I know BASIC html, so it helped a tiny bit, but not much. I'm not sure it will be much easier next time. I need to find a good how-to guide to follow instead of relying on my 'not so' brilliance.

Then I noticed some of my songs weren't playing, so I updated a few links & added a few new songs. "Ruby" is a tribute to one of my favorite Guitar Hero III bonus songs ;-) I'm not so sure I'll ever get beyond the medium level, but it was fun to play over Christmas/New Years.
Alguien Soy Yo, is a new song I found while looking for & not finding Lluvia Cae. It's beautiful, even if you can't understand the words. Apparently, it's called Somebody's Me in English...not quite as eloquent & TOTALLY a different song.
I added the Barenaked Ladies version of The Other Day I Met A Bear, because it reminded me of ALL my years at Girls Camp when I was a teenager - especially the year I re-did the camp songbook & included my own version of that song, which I entitled Massasoit. At the end of the song we chanted "I wish I had a wigwam, wigwam, wigwam...". I thought it was pretty funny. How un-P.C. was that?!

So, that's the boring run down of my updated site. Hopefully it's a little nicer to look at.

Any hints, tips, suggestions, etc are appreciated (no, I'm not fishing for compliments...I really am looking for suggestions to make it better, if you have any).
